My name is Delores Goudy. I am a Development Specialist for BEE BOUNDLESS, a sole proprietorship that works on a variety of economic opportunities to supplement my income as I work toward my Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. I am currently a senior student hoping to graduate May 9, 2015 from USM Gulf Coast. I am from East St. Louis, Illinois where I first began enjoying reading books with regular visits to the Bookmobile. I have teaching experiences from Blockbuster Video as District Trainer and as a Sunday School Teacher. I have also taken relative courses with The College of Education and Psychology, departments of Child and Family Studies and Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education, which covered NCATE, NETS, ISTE, CCSS, and INTASC Standards. .
This blog is designed as a portfolio of Library Information Sciences, Collection Development and Management Course (LIS 411) at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Here you will find educational information regarding Ranganathan's Five Laws of Librianship, Collection Development Policy, Censorship and Collection Development Reports, Source Report Reviews, Materials Selection, Materials Weeding, Community Factors, Review Sources, Collection Evaluation, and Weeding Digital Collections. Other materials may be included as assigned by Xingu Yu, instructor. My purpose for creating this portfolio is a future desire to develop a collection of educational materials.
In the future I would like to continue to develop instructional models, programs, curriculum, and courses that will facilitate societal improvement and economic opportunity; eventually operating an international association for a newly created field of study. I really enjoy reading biographical, historical, and other educational materials. I must admit that in this technological age, my enjoyment for reading books has evolved to more of an enjoyment for surfing the net; internet that is. I am wishing us all a wonderful semester.
